MY 5 FAVORITE ALBUMS AS OF 2024

Since 2024 is coming to an end, I’ve decided to put together my favourite albums, which will contain both new releases and some old gems. So without further ado, let’s dive into the depths of my somewhat horrible music taste.

5. RECOVER(Deluxe)- Brye (2024)

This album has truly helped me throughout this year, and I find the songs immensely beautiful. In this album, Brye explores healing from her eating disorder, societal acceptance, mental health and also her own perception of herself. This album’s non-deluxe version was released in 2023, but in 2024 Brye added four more songs ( specifically: MAGIC, Home., the stripped version of her viral hit “Diet culture”, and the solo version of the song “Jenna”) and made a deluxe version of the album. Would definitely recommend this album to anyone who enjoys indie or generally calm music.  

4. OIL OF EVERY PEARLS UN-INSIDES NON-STOP REMIX ALBUM- SOPHIE (2019)

When I say that this is one of the most unique listening experiences you could possibly ever encounter, I am not exaggerating. Despite being released 5 years ago, this album remains unchallenged as one of the best hyperpop albums to ever exist. That is because in this album you can find everything, from melancholic tunes to techno-ish beats, and what is even better, is that each song seamlessly flows into another, providing an uninterrupted listening session and leaving a strong impression on the listener. I honestly think that every person to live on earth should listen to this masterpiece, no matter their opinion on the hyperpop genre.

3. Ribbed Music For The Numb Generation – Sohodolls (2007)

This album is an exquisite mix of synth-pop and glam rock. Even though the most popular song on the album is “Bang Bang Bang Bang”, it is not quite representative of the album as a whole. This song shows the melancholic synth-pop-ish side of the album, whilst songs like “Weekender” and “Stripper” have a totally different sounding. This way the album has something to give to every type of listener, therefore it remains relevant, despite being released back in 2007.

2. Dysania-Elita (2023)

Words cannot describe how excited I was for this release. This album is a unique combination of indie rock, experimental electronic beats with a significant influence of the alternative genres. Teased by two pre-release singles “Sleep Paralysis” and “Mentally Not Here”, the album was not really recognised by the masses. Nevertheless, this album completely immerses you into another world, full of mystical creatures and even fairies. This album would enchant even the most picky music enthusiasts.

1. Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat – Charli xcx (2024)

Certainly the best album to be released this year. This album is an experimental hyperpop masterpiece, featuring a lot of really cool artists( For example Ariana Grande, Bladee, A.G. Cook and others). What is important to mention, is that this album is a remix album of the previously released album “brat”, and the shock effect that it has on you is enormous. So, basically this album totally destroys your expectations of the  songs’ sound, therefore this album is a beautiful masterpiece, fitting for every type of listener.
