Edible fruits in particular have long propagated using the movements of humans and other animals in a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Symbiosis\">symbiotic relationship<\/a>&nbsp;that is the means for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Seed_dispersal\">seed dispersal<\/a>&nbsp;for the one group and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nutrition\">nutrition<\/a>&nbsp;for the other; humans, and many other animals, have become dependent on fruits as a source of food.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fruit#cite_note-Lewis375-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;Consequently, fruits account for a substantial fraction of the world&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Agriculture\">agricultural<\/a>&nbsp;output, and some (such as the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apple\">apple<\/a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pomegranate\">pomegranate<\/a>) have acquired extensive cultural and symbolic meanings.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In common language and culinary usage,&nbsp;<em>fruit<\/em>&nbsp;normally means the seed-associated fleshy structures (or produce) of plants that typically are sweet (or sour) and edible in the raw state, such as apples, bananas, grapes, lemons, oranges, and strawberries. In botanical usage, the term&nbsp;<em>fruit<\/em>&nbsp;also includes many structures that are not commonly called as such in everyday language, such as nuts, bean pods, corn kernels, tomatoes, and wheat grains.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Orange<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\u00a0<strong>orange<\/strong>, also called\u00a0<strong>sweet orange<\/strong>\u00a0to distinguish it from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bitter_orange\">bitter orange<\/a>\u00a0(<em>Citrus \u00d7 aurantium<\/em>), is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fruit\">fruit<\/a>\u00a0of a tree in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Family_(biology)\">family<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rutaceae\">Rutaceae<\/a>. Botanically, this is the hybrid\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Citrus_%C3%97_sinensis\"><em>Citrus<\/em>\u00a0\u00d7\u00a0<em>sinensis<\/em><\/a>, between the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pomelo\">pomelo<\/a>\u00a0(<em>Citrus maxima<\/em>) and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mandarin_orange\">mandarin orange<\/a>\u00a0(<em>Citrus reticulata<\/em>).
